One thing I noticed when trying the BLE demo, in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A7uxNS_0QOI is mentioned "allow network connections."
Workbench did not prompt for this.
Re: Connection Error
Hi Joseph,
Thanks for pointing out the inconsistency of the "allow network connections" dialog. Sometimes the system does not prompt you for this, it is also different on different operating systems. On OS X I get the dialog box every time, with very few exceptions. I have not researched the reason for this, guess there can be a setting for this.
Did a quick check, I added EvothingsWorkbench to the firewall in OS X, then the dialog does not display. Perhaps this is the setting you have? (Which OS are you using?)
Best regards, Mikael

Re: Connection Error
I am using OS X 10.9
I have not added anything to the firewall -- I am not even sure how to do it, or whether it is the native firewall or peerguardian (which i just installed yesterday). I tried to turn off peerguardian to see whether that would make a difference, but it is not obvious whether it is really inactive or not.
is there a way to white-list workbench in the native firewall and peerguardian?

Re: Connection Error
In OS X firewall you can add an app (to white list it) using "System Preferences" I have not used PeerGuardian, so I am of little help there.

Re: Connection Error
Hello,
I am facing the same problem. My phone and the arduino won't connect. When i run the app from the WorkBench and enter the IP of the arduino (taken from the Serial Monitor as stated in the steps), as i press Connect the status is changed to "Connection Error".
Any suggestions for solving this ?
Thanks in advance
