Windows Phone 8.1 plans?
Windows Phone 8.1 plans?
Any BLE plugin support planned for Windows Phone?
Re: Windows Phone 8.1 plans?
Hi Jen,
Sorry for the very slow response, hope you have had a fine New year.
We are planning Windows Phone support, but I cannot give any official date.
Here is a Cordova plugin that says it does support Windows Phone:
https://github.com/randdusing/BluetoothLE
I have developed Windows Phone apps with Evothings Studio, but not used the above plugin however.
Note that you can use Evothings Workbench with any Cordova app, and Windows Phone should work. (In this case you use your own Cordova app rather than the Evothings Client app).
What you do is that you take your Cordova project, and update config.xml to point to the connect URL of the Evothings Workbench server. The server then can serve files to your app, and you don't need to manually rebuild the app for each update, which saves a lot of time.
Would be great if you wish to try this out. I can give you help on the way. This documentation page is the starting point, it is currently written for iOS and Android, but if you are familiar with Cordova for Windows Phone it should be easy to follow the steps:
http://evothings.com/doc/build/cordova-guide.html
The specific section that says how to use Cordova with Evothings Workbench:
http://evothings.com/doc/build/cordova- ... rEvothings
Let me know how it goes.
Best regards, Mikael
