beacons start ranging in background

hello,
what is it the best way to get ranging after monitoring in background?
when my app is in background the monitoring work and wak up the app (a short moment on ios ) , i would like, in this laps time, start ranging in order to get the nearest beacon , or better the beacon who have trigered the monitoring action rssi proximity power etc .....

i don't understand how to handle tha with code
