Hi Sam
what you are experiencing is known as "network isolation" - which occurs often on public networks to prevent multiple devices on the same network talking directly to each other. for this reason; the client cannot detect the workbench and even with an IP address; it cannot connect to it. this is a limitation of our initial version of Evothings Studio; however - we have seen this and we are currently testing a new version which uses our own servers online which act as a proxy to allow two independent devices in a network like yours to actually connect.
i can pass a reference to this chat to Micke who is heading that up and he can possibly get you to evaluate that version as part of our testing group.
can't connect between workbench & client
Re: can't connect between workbench & client
Thanks Aaron for the help.
I ended up having to use my mobile hotspot on my phone so everything works out fine for now.

Hi Sam, posted you a private message with info about testing an early release of Evothings Studio that addresses this problem.
