iBeacon sample working on iOS, not on Android
iBeacon sample working on iOS, not on Android
Using workbench 1.1.0 on OSX 10.10. I added my uuid to the iBeacon sample, otherwise didn't change it. My iPhone sees my beacons, but my Nexus 7 (4.4.4) does not.
Re: iBeacon sample working on iOS, not on Android
Here, I am emulating a beacon with Apple's AirLocate (iPhone, right), and as you can see, it is not detected on my Nexus 7 (on the left) but is detected on my iPad (back).
Re: iBeacon sample working on iOS, not on Android
Hi Jen,
Here are some things to try.
If you try running the BLE Scan example app on Android, does it see the beacon?
Is the Nexus 7 running the latest version of Evothings Client? Currently this is version 1.1.1. Version info is available under the menu in the app, in the upper right corner, then scroll to bottom of the info page.
Do any other BLE apps running on the Nexus 7 detect the beacon? (Perhaps you can get some app from Google Play that scans for beacons?)
It is Nexus 7 2013 you are using? (The 2012 model does not support BLE as far as I know, with a custom ROM perhaps.)
BLE Scanning on Nexus 7 is not that stable. Each device is detected only once when scanning, this could be the cause of the problem. But the Cordova iBeacon plugin used should take care of this and periodically restart the scanning process to update the beacon status.
Best regards, Mikael
