Android lollipop on nexus 5 incompatibility

Postby ZeBritche » 15:31, 06 Feb 2015

Hi everybody,

I'm french, so i'm sorry if my english is not perfect !

First of all, i discovered EvoThings Workbench this week and i think it's a fantastic tool ;)

I realised a lot of tests on different devices, and especially with your "estimote-scan" example.
It was a very big pleasure until i update my Nexus 5 to lollipop (android 5.0.1).

There seems to be an incompatibility with this system, if i open your example with my EvoThings Client i have an EvoThing error and my application closes with this message "Evothings stopped !".

Have you the same problem ? And so, have you a solution ? (i tried also on Galaxy Note II with the same OS and it works perfectly ...).

We have a Nexus 5, but have not yet updated it to Android 5, since that version hasn't been very popular yet. Time to change that, I think.

Won't have time to test until next week. You could help by connecting your phone to a PC and running "adb logcat" while running the crashy app, then posting the interesting parts of the log here.

I've confirmed the error occurs on our Nexus 5 with Android 5.0.1.

It can be fixed by upgrading our copy of the native Estimote SDK to 0.4.3.

We'll upload a new version of our Client, with this fix, to the app store, as soon as we can.
