Hi Guys
Has anyone succeeded in controlling the Arduino Mega with the WiFi cc3000 shield using the Android LED On/Off app
and would be kind enough to share the solution to give me a start with Evothing.

Regards

I assume you refer to the Sparkfun CC3000 WiFi Shield.

We at Evothings have not worked much with this shield, because it is incompatible with the standard Arduino WiFi Shield.

To make the LED On/Off app work with the CC3000, you'll have to modify the .ino file to work with the CC3000 instead of the standard Arduino WiFi library.

Sparkfun has a number of illustrative examples you can learn from. I would start with the one called "PingTest".

Hi Fredrik,

Thank you for the prompt reply.
I looked on your web site and I can only see mention of the ESP 8266. When you mention the standard Arduino WiFi Shield I suspect it is the one costing well in excess of $75 and less available than the ESP8266 or CC3000 which costs less than $20 which is very well supported and easy to use. Maybe it is in the interest of Evothing to produce a library or modify an existing cc3000 library!!!!
Again thank you
